I present to you our “April 2008 Ride of the Month” goes to this Red Rocket, the 2006 VW Golf GTI MKV. The VW Golf is an attractive and practical car to used everyday but this GTI is no joke. With mildly aggressive exterior and its tonnes of engine performance to match, this is the GTI that I have been looking for.

The word GTI means sport edition. This GTI is more than sport edition. It got more go-go gadgets under the hood makes it go hella fast. The 200hp Turbo engine with DSG gearbox was not left stock long enough. The engine used BSR PPC Tuning kit and Neuspeed Hi flow turbo discharge kit for more turbo boost. More Boost = More power. The engine modification doesn’t stops there. The engine is also fitted with GruppeM Ram Air system, Greddy blow-off valve, ECS light weight pulley kit for more responsive throttle. With Forge FMIC with Oettinger enlarged intercooler mated with Neuspeed Hi flow intercooler pipe to cool down the turbo for safe operating temperature. Moving out of the engine bay is Milltek down pipe/non resonated catback and connects with the ABT Quad Exhaust Muffler. The muffler not just looks good on the GTI but it makes one sweet deep sound. To keep the engine vibration to a minimum level, the GTI is fitted with VF Engineering Engine/transmission/pendulum mound kit. The GTI has yet to be dyno for its performance upgrade.

With so many modifications under the hood, here’s more list of the GTI modification which makes it the best in Brunei. The luscious Tornado Red color really turns head as it go. The GTI is fitted with a complete set of ABT bodykits, open fog light bumper grill, Osir roof spoiler and a short stubby antenna. The distinctive feature of the GTI is the black grill with red stripe covering the edges of the grill. The normal black grill is changed to Carbon fiber for that racing look. The original GTI logos are removed and changed to red colored emblems. The front headlamps also get a treatment with Osir Carbon fiber eyelids, LED Angel eyes and the original tail lights are swapped with R32 tail lights.

As you all noticed, The GTI got huge wheels. Those are 20inch Auto Couture wheels wrapped with Falken FK452 225/30/20 tire size. The car is lowered with H&R performance spring and with all the performance parts under the hood, the car original brake systems are swapped more high performance brakes. ECS Slotted cross-drilled rotor front/rear with Hawk Performance Brake pads/HPS compound is installed to the GTI.

On the interior of the GTI, The Stock Anthracite full leather interior still remains inside the car. Only the gear knob and the handbrake handle were changed with Edition 30 gear knob and handbrake. For easy parking assistance, a reverse camera was installed to the car. For in car entertainment Arc Audio amplifier was installed with 12inch Polkaudio Subwoofer to give the car some thumping.

This is by far the Best VW Golf GTI MKV in Brunei. Congratulations to the owner of this extremely hot ride.
