Audi Owners Club Meet

Friday, May 23, 2008

Wow..plenty of car clubs this month, now its Audi Owners Club turn. Today i was invited to join the Audi Owners Club meet which were organized by T.C.Y Motors Sdn Bhd. The venue was at The Arch Taurean Cafe in Gadong. It was great to see various Audi's such as the Monster yellow Audi S4 Wagon, Audi A4, Audi A3, Audi S4 sedan, Audi Q7, Audi A6, Audi A4 convertible & Audi TT filled the Taurean car park. The purposeful meeting was to show how grateful T.C.Y. Motor Sdn Bhd towards their loyal customers. By making this gathering, it is surely the best way to find friends, sharing knowledge with each other and most of all sharing the shear passion towards their automotive companion, Audi.

It's great to see that Audi has a good following here in Brunei. I am disappointed that T.C.Y is not bringing in the new A4 and there does not seem to be any indication they will until they get rid of their current stock.

if they want to clear the old stock, why not sell it at cost price. I am sure someone will buy it.

First of all, I personally think they overpriced their car, for example a s4 should be at about more or less 120k at which they sell for 130-140 range. Then after sometime when it cant be sold at that price, they start offering ppl at lower price but at that time, the model is already getting old (end of its design life) for example the s4 they have is the older s4 model. Then its difficult to get buyer, so the old model should be sold at lower than cost so they can quickly get rid of it. The longer they keep those model, the harder it is to sell it (eg. old tt). Then start selling newer model of audi at a reasonable price.

    correct me if im wrong..

You are right. They are overpriced. Look at their workshop. How can the Audi worskhop share with the peugot, sangyoung, qq and cherry. Five brand under one roof??? Come on.... Audi is a premium brand. It should be separate from the rest!

They sell the car at a premium price but when you enter the workshop, it feels like you are buying QQ instead of Audi! T.C.Y. , if you are reading this please do something about the price of the car and the workshop. Don't just rely on the customer to bring up the Audi name.If you think you are not capable to keep up with Audi standard, why did you sell Audi in the first place???

all may be true.but its a strategy for t.c.y to get profit from others and to survive..as there only one audi distributor here so they control the prices, ..competitor's are all different brands...

Strategy? What strategy? How many Audi's have the sold compare to BMW or Mercedes? I think they need to change their strategy if they want to sell more.

yeah..strategy to make money...importing more car mean more money..maybe they cannot afford to have the prices down..or may be you are right about it..they need to put down the price..to put in more cars on the road.. & compete with merc & bmw..even bmw got its lelong on its series lastime...

Maybe their strategy is to make less money since they don't bother to change anything.

Audi is a great brand. Its just that TCY does not know how to run it.

maybe TCY should let go of Audi's and find new distributors for the Audi's here.since all they care is making profit..they should only take care of cheap-cheap cars..

Yup, I agree with you. TCY should let go Audi and concentrate on QQ, SangYoung, Chery, Peugot and Ford. Six brand!! How the hell can they manage all this?

totally agree on the overpricing of audi's here in brunei. They priced the old S4 almost on par with the previous model M3. the S4 is not EVEN on the same category as the M3. i seriously doubt they will bring in the R8. they can't even bring in the new A4 or S4...

it's disappointing being an audi fan, watching the brand going down in brunei cause of the dealership, whereas globally they are becoming stronger & stronger

All is well and true about Audi in Brunei being a little overpriced but i suppose they to mark up the prices due to the limited stock they bring in. perhaps consider packing a negotiable Forex rate with your principal.

The factor that lets TCY down is their sales staff lacking product knowledge, marketing approach, pricing, market analysis of which is a popular fast moving model and location. The servicing of other brands in their Audi workshop is not helping either.

From what i know my mate with the yellow S4 actually wanted the RS4 badly but TCY could not seem to help him. Couldn't you have plucked stock from a neighboring country etc and negotiate a price. Am surprise my mate bought the yellow S4 to be honest cos i wouldn't have despite the generous disc offered. Dun get me wrong readers... the S4 despite the late 2004 production is still an amazing car. I know the owner has coughed up some nice pennies to kit-out and tune the car. Sigh!

They really should consider their branding, awareness and operations of the Audi Group in Brunei because this company is not doing much justice for the brand.

Added to that TCY needs to better educate their sales-people on the products. I recall the one of the sales people challenging my mate and I about technicals of some of their cars. Enthusiasts know their cars so better educate your sales people at TCY Audi.

I am sorry to add further to the critiques but i do hope that TCY takes it constructively.
