i recently bought CDA9884E and bought the KCE422i cable,it works well on my ipod,n awesome quality of sound too..

ive got cda-9855r with kca420i. abit old but sounds fantastic. the scroll bar is abit annoying tho. but connected it to genesis amps and speakers with nat king cole on....sounds amazing!!

Cool..so how much does the cda-9855r cost? Im thinking of buying an alpine head unit myself..But its kinda hard to find a genuine Alpine products here as there are a lot of "china copy version of Alpine" sold here and there..

hello mr.carzine. i bought my 9855r here in uk around 250 pounds. u can check online. try this uk website, caraudiosecurity:

but there are a few things im annoyed with the head unit tho:
1.the glidetouch bar needs some getting used to, and dont work well on a cold day
2.if u connect to ipod, the display only show either artist+album or album+song title. but not artist+song title!! why i dont know...very annoying
3.again if u use ipod, if u shuffle songs, they will shuffle the songs from an album first. it doesnt do free shuffle. the only way around this is having a playlist made early then shuffle it on ur itunes then connect ti the player. hehe
4.controller is extremely basic
apart from this 4 annoying facts, it is a fantastic head unit. the time correction, digital crossover and subwoofer level controller are superb and lets u fine tune ur sound. highly recommended. also genesis range of speakers are amazing!!!

or u can check on ebay especially from uk sellers. definitely worth a try. they are going around 100 quid. my flatmate bought form ebay and it was as good as new. uk sellers would probably be the safest bet. they tend to be more honest. i bought a genesis series III 5-channel amp from ebay and that was imaculate!

i had an alpine head unit in my sx 4 sound really great .. eventhough i used my old amp that i used since high skool that is 10 years ago.. but it still sounds great .. !!!
