On Friday 6th February 2009 Audi Sole dealer and distributor, T.C.Y Motors Sdn Bhd held a demonstration of some unique Audi vehicle technology currently available in the Audi Q7 SUV and recently launched Audi A4 at their showroom in Lambak. Audi will celebrate its 100 years of service in the automotive world this July. The demonstration is in line with Audi's tradition of consistent innovation, its continuing evolution and efforts in staying a head of time and competition as a result of its technologies and developments.

The demonstration highlights is the Audi Parking System Advanced and Adaptive Air Suspension which are available on the Q7 and the Bang & Olufsen sound system which is available on the current Audi A4. The demonstration was led by T.C.Y.Motors Audi Trainer, Mr. Victor Ho.

-Audi Parking System Advance



For a definite improvement in convenience in many routine situations such as parking either parallel or at right angle to the kerb, or manoevering in very dense traffic situations, Audi Parking System Advanced is available for the Audi Q7.

Audi's Parking System Advanced utilizes a rear view camera inconspicuously integrated into the handle of the tailgate; it covers a wide area behind the vehicle with an angle of up to 130º. The visual information is displayed in colour on the MMI screen in the cockpit.

The system shows the driver the path to take when reversing by means of various 'real time' guide lines and fields: a blue area shows the vehicle's footprint offset approximately one vehicle length to the rear. The driver therefore knows immediately whether a parking space is large enough for the Audi Q7. Markers at 1 metre intervals further improve distance estimation. With the aid of two yellow lines, which dynamically align themselves to the steering angle, the driver can see in advance the line to take when angle parking or when reversing through gateways or into garages, and is thus able to estimate whether an obstruction can be passed without any problem. As well as real time imaging, the Audi Parking System Advanced is equipped with the familiar acoustic and visual parking aids.


-Adaptive Air Suspension

On the Audi Q7 with Adaptive Air Suspension, ride height and damping are ideally matched to the actual driving situation. The 'four corner' air suspension system with electronic damper control adapted to suit the specific needs of a high performance SUV, regulates ride height automatically and varies both the rebound and compression stages of the shock absorbers steplessly according to an adaptive principle.

The driver can influence the suspension characteristics actively to suit his or her individual preferences. Variable ground clearance is a decisive advantage of this system: depending on the on or off-road driving situation, driving speed and load status, there is a choice between the off-road, comfort, dynamic, automatic modes and the additional lift level as well as the loading and trailer towing modes. If the vehicle's road speed falls or exceeds the preset limits, the suspension is automatically raised or lowered to the next ride height position. The suspension modes can be selected at the MMI. The selected and actual modes are shown as a graphic display on the MMI screen and the driver information system. The height of the loading lip can be adjusted by activating and deactivating the loading mode at a 'Load' button in the load area.



-Bang & Olufsen Sound System



Inside the new Audi A4 lies a state of the art sound system from Bang & Olufsen. The Bang & Olufsen sound system comprises of 14 tailor made speakers including its own subwoofer. The Bang & Olufsen sound system has ten active channels and 14 speakers. Two three-way systems are active at the front, each with speakers in the door, the triangular mirror mounting and the dash panel. At the rear there are two speakers in each door. The total output of 505watts delivered by 10 amplifiers turns this Audi A4 to a concert hall on wheels.

Bang & Olufsen Image technology turns a 2 channel stereo signal into a perfect 7.1 channel surround sound. This ensures balance of bass, mid range and treble at any level you choose to listen to your music at. An integrated microphone (GALA speed-dependent volume control) between the two front seats continuously measures changing noise conditions (for example external noise i.e. rain of windscreen, tyre noise etc) and instantly adjusts the sound to ensure acoustic experience.
