October Fest: Ulu Tutong Expedition

More than 15 participants have taken part in the Ford 4x4 Off-Road Overnight Expedition to Ulu Tutong. The flag-off was held yesterday at the Ford Premier Automobiles Sdn Bhd in Beribi.
It was the final out of the three events as part of Ford October Fest 2009 with the last two Sunday's successful Tug of War challenge trophy and the 4x4 Test Drive for public which was held in the Tutong District.

Prior to making their way to the campsite known as 'Nyamuk Ning Campsite' for the night, Ford automobiles sponsored several waste bins and a new signboard were handed over by Mr Teng Chee How, Sales Manager, to the Kg Kiudang village head, Hj Omarali bin Esong, who is also the Deputy Chairman of Kg Kuidang Council Committee. The handover was held at Wasai Bedanu, Kampong Kiudang, Tutong District.

Few huts, public toilets and changing rooms were set up at the Bedanu Recreational Park in Wasai Bedanu for visitors.

Amran Hj Johari, Head of Projects of Bedanu Recreational Park advised the public to work together to maintain cleanliness of the park and its natural habitat.

The flag-off was officiated by Mr Teng Chee Khiong, the Managing Director of Premier Automobiles.

According to Mr John Tan, the Marketing Executive, he said, "This trip will test their car and its ability to endure an off-road track."

"Although it wont be a hard core track, the participants will still have to equip their vehicles with mud terrain tires," he added.

According to him, one of the major sponsors of the event is Hock Motors providing the participants with accessories, tires, afterwards servicing and souvenirs. Mr John Tan said, "This is part of Ford branding and we will try to make it an annual event because the previous events were successful."

A $30 per vehicle admission fee was charged to the participants for the 4x4 Off-Road flag-off. Mr Tan highlighted that there was an experienced driver present to support the amateur drivers and showing that safety is their number one priority.
