15/11/09, BC joined the Swift D-Drive to experience some of Megamas training, although the training was not extreme like doing J-turn, sliding etc it was a good learning curve. The D-Drive consist of reverse competition, acceleration and braking exercise, spot the vehicle fault and the Slalom competition.
$20 fee was charged to all the participants for the goodies and ayamku voucher. On top of that a free full check up was conducted to all the cars that participate making sure all the cars a in good condition, and safe for the events.

Boustead executive manager Lim Jin Lee giving a speech to start off the Swift D-Drive to the guest of honor, public and press.

Mr.John explains the importance of safety to the participants giving advice and tips for safe driving.

I was placed in group C and the first competition was the reverse competition where you must get as close to the foam as possible and to get a point is at least 30cm. It was very hard as the participants can only rely on the mirrors and can't open the door to peek at the rear bumper. 2 attempts were given to accomplish this act and the two points will be added to the final result.

Group C starts off with the slalom competition where a tennis ball is put in a bowl which is placed on the hood of the swift. The participants must drive as fast as possible through the slalom course without losing the ball. The trick is to get a good balance and smoothness like Initial D balancing the water in the cup act. However it is easier said than done. 3 attempts were given and the points will be added.

The guest of honor was given a tour of all the competitions starting from the spot the fault where the participants must spot as many fault as possible in the new Suzuki Grand Vitara.
Below are some of the faults that i found.

BC's Suzuki Swift getting ready for my favorite competition the acceleration and braking contest where the participants must get through the course and stop in the box as much as possible.

The 1st batch which starts around 9.30am is mostly stock swift.

Most people nowadays seat leaning backward as it looks cool and some feel more relaxed that way however its not the correct seating position as it makes it very hard to maneuver the car especially during emergency.

Mr.John shows the correct seating position. It may look and feel awkward to some but it gives a good length between the driver to the steering and the pedal. Further more its gives better safety during impact less chance of whiplash as the back is neatly supported the the seat.

A demo run to show the slalom course.

Hock Motor is also one of the main sponsor of the event and showcase their lines of Goodyear tyre. Boustead showcased three cars which is the 1.3 swift, the SX4 and the latest 1.6L Suzuki Swift Sport.

Boustead is also giving more option to the 1.3 Suzuki Swift with the Hikari Bodykit and 17" Alloy wheels which is approved by JPD making this car a very cool car to drive. The kit cost $2900 and the alloy wheel $2200.

The supercharged Suzuki Swift Sport with 210hp sitting in the maintenance pit.

The 2nd batch is more interesting with the Swift Club in action as most of the cars are equipped with aftermarket parts such as bodykits, performance parts and suspension.

Too bad i didn't have time to see what time this 160+whp turbo swift will get with its sports wheels and D2 coilover.
