On 27th November 2010, Boustead Sdn Bhd has announced their latest edition to the Nissan family, the 2011 Nissan March at the Mall Gadong. Nissan March has been known for it rounded shaped, friendly character and most importantly perfect size for city cruising. The new Nissan March is still the friendly character type mini hatchback but with the redesign front fascia, the new Nissan March turns out to be sportier. Hey we are not complaining about this at all. It turns out the new Nissan March is an interesting new city car after all. The car has plenty of head room space and the view from inside the car is terrific thanks to it's large front and rear glass windows.
Basically, the new March has a new engine which is a 1.2 litre Petrol 3 cylinder (HR12DE) rating 56kW and 104Nm of torque. According to the paper, this new economical engine combines with the newly designed lightweight chassis can achieve fuel efficiency of 17km per litre. Getting around tight city corners are a breeze for the March as it can get around with a minimum turning radius of 4.5m.

BRUNEI, Gadong. 26 November, 2010 – Premier Automobiles Sdn. Bhd (PASB), the sole importer and dealership in Brunei Darussalam has organized two contests as part of the pre-launch campaign for the highly anticipated 2011 Ford Fiesta. The two contests begun on 1st November and lasted for 3 weeks, ended recently on the 23rd November. The contests was open to all Bruneians aged 12 years and above.
The “Fiesta Sing It Contest” created a big wave in the industry as it was the first ever contest that requires a person to actually improvise and sing ‘live’ on national radio. Kristal FM provided two slots daily whereby they have invited their listeners to attempt to sing a self composed song incorporating six keywords – Fiesta, Kinetic, 6 Speed, Safe, Sleek & Dual Clutch into their songs.
The second contest, ‘Design Your Fiesta’ also ran simultaneously with the “Fiesta Sing It Contest”. This contest gave the opportunity to aspiring artists, graphic designers and car enthusiasts a chance to design or “decal” a Ford Fiesta according to their creativity. PASB provided 200 free templates for collection at the showroom and all templates were cleared by the fourth day the contest ran. However, the templates are able to be downloaded at the official Ford Brunei website at no cost www.premiermotor.com.bn so the public can download and print the templates themselves. The winning entry will eventually be materialized on a real-life Ford Fiesta and will be unveiled on the launching ceremony of the 2011 Ford Fiesta, December 4th 2010.

Besides the two contests, Premier Automobiles have also organized a series of street dance or better known as ‘flash mobs’ in several key areas in Brunei. The most outstanding performance would be the last performance, held at Chill Café at The Mall on 23rd November where a total of 23 dancers participated and managed to pull a good strong crowd of 100 people. Many were caught by surprise but very impressed with the performance and it very much captured the essence of the Ford Fiesta – young, hip, urban and energetic.

The 3008 is a whole new division for Peugeot line up. The 3008 features a short front & rear end overhang which helps in parking the car in tight spaces (In addition, Peugeot front and rear Smart Park assist is standard) , rally design inspired wheel arches, and a panoramic roof with electronically controlled retractable blind, wide front grill with chrome lining and a unique LED look taillights. Under the hood of the 3008 is a 1.6litre THP (stands for Turbo High Pressure) engine coupled with a 6 speed auto adaptive gearbox with Tiptronic and Sport mode. This 1.6litre Twin scroll turbocharged engine gives out a happy goal mark of 156hp & maximum torque of 240Nm@1400rpm. The fuel consumption for this engine is 7.7litres per 100km (EU mixed cycle). It is quite a nifty engine for this type of car.

Let’s now talk about the interior of 3008. A successful interior consists of well design ergonomic interior with ample head & leg room space. The 3008 has tick all the right boxes. The design of the interior is most welcoming and subtle. The premium leather seats are comfortable and the layout of the dashboard simulates ‘cockpit’ type feel.
One new feature for Peugeot is the HUD (Head Up Display) which is located just behind the instrumental panel. The HUD gives out essential driver information such as speed, speedometer and cruise control. Here is the first look on the latest facelift Subaru Wrx STI. The exciting news is the Sedan STI is already here in Brunei. The 2011 Sedan STI has been developed by Subaru engineers to improve on the handling of the car through vigorous reseach & development test on Nurburgring track in Germany. The STi clocked in a blistering 7 min 55seconds and beats Porsche Panamera Turbo time of 7min 56seconds. Mind you the STI has only 305hp while the Panamera Turbo has 500hp . It is considered to be the best handling and fastest Sedan from Subaru up to date. And furthermore, The new sedan looks awesome.

The 2011 WRX STi hatchback are back with a new front bumper. The wrx version of the hatchback received a wide-body treatment seen on the STi as well as diffuser with the dual tail pipe exhaust. The big difference between the Wrx and the STi version are the performance. The wrx has a turbocharged boxer engine rated 260hp (estimated) with 5 speed manual transmission while the STI version has uprated turbocharged boxer engine rated 305hp (estimated) with 6 speed manual transmission.

BRUNEI, Tutong., 8 November, 2010 – The highly anticipated second half of Ford October Fiesta 2010 came to a close yesterday which saw a total of 13 off road enthusiasts battle against time at the off road track in Mahad Islam, Tutong. The off road track, prepared by the Ranger Club was 1.1 km long and had several demanding obstacles set to give even the seasoned off road drivers a challenging time. A few 4x4’s did not manage to finish the race but in the end Khalid came out on top, clocking just 5 minutes 14 seconds followed by Osman and Mohd Danishwafi.

The event, organized by Premier Automobiles Sdn Bhd (PASB) in co-operation with MPK Sg Kelugos and Katakijau Fund Raising Group aimed at holding a fun outdoor activity which also raises fund for several local welfare organizations in Brunei. This has been the second year PASB organized such an event and from the response of public and other private organizations, this year was a greater success compared to the last.

This year, several other organizations took part in the Ford October Fiesta in support of the noble deed. Four main big bikes in Brunei – PEMODA, KEKAL, Big Bikers Club and Sport Bikerz Club came and displayed their superbikes and also managed to raise some fund for charity. They also offered their services to pilot anyone interested to ride a big bike on a 3 km ride with a minimal fee of $3, which was later given to the charity fund.
Brunei Meat Company (BMC) also took part in this years’ event whereby they have set up a stall selling their infamous honey sausages and hot dogs. This was a hit to the customers as BMC was selling their products at a below retail price, which was later donated to charity as well.
There were also a lot of stalls set up by the locals in Tutong selling tasty treats, grilled items, handicrafts, embroideries, charity car wash and lots more. All the proceed from sales will be handled by KatakIjau and donated to a few selected welfare organizations in Brunei. Managing Director of PASB, Mr Teng Chee Khiong was very happy with the conclusion of this years’ Ford October Fiesta and promises a more exciting and fun event next year.
