This is actually great news for 4x4 owners to use this ECU. The dealer of Unichip based in Miri, Sarawak is planning to bring in this ECU to Brunei Darussalam. It has been tested and proven that this ecu can actually adds more power on "stock"/ "Modified" Engine up to 20%-50% Horsepower gained.

Brunei "Z" Owners Club Association also known as BZOCA was having their Annual meet up, Cruising and BBQ last Sunday, 19th December 2010, and this will end their activities in 2010. More than 15 BZOCA members attended the event and having their day with Lamb chop, Chicken wings and fried mee. This event shows that the car enthusiast and club gathering were still active.
Due to the raining season, fewer activities were done by the members. The meet up was a great success and Brunei Carzine was happy to be invited again in the near future. Great club spirit BZOCA, keep the club alive!

On 20th December 2010, NBT (Brunei) Sdn Bhd has successfully organised the “IS300 Show” which were held at the Lexus Showroom in Gadong from 2pm until 6pm. The highlight of the event was to showcase the Lexus IS F alongside with the rest of the IS series such as the IS300c Convertible and the IS300.
Lexus enthusiasts and members of the public were invited to witness Lexus’s king of the crop IS line, the Lexus IS F. The event was entertained throughout the afternoon by live local performances. Guests also got the chance to participate a lucky-draw, which the winner will be announced on Wednesday, 22nd December, 2010. And the prize to be won is a 1 year free membership at the Empire hotel & Country Club.

The Lexus IS F is not just another fancy IS300 with exterior modifications but it is whole new different car. It is an IS that is built for speed. Underneath the bulged hood hold an enormous 5.0litre V8 Dual VVT-i engine that has enough power to tear up a race track. It is the same engine normally seen in a Lexus LS series but has been seriously upgraded to an utmost detail in order to achieve maximum performances yet reliable. The dual intake system provides smooth power transition at low-to-medium speeds then opens wide at high rpm for maximum power and torque. The engine is rated 417hp and 505 Nm of torque. The IS F is capable to sprint from 0-100Km/h in 4.8 secs and reaches its peak at 270km/h.
The IS F uses a special transmission which is called the 8-speed Sport Direct Shift transmission. The transmission features gear hold control (gear hold up to 6800rpm), special lock-up clutch for improved responsiveness, super high response upshift control ( manual upshifts as quick as 0.1seconds) and blipping downshift control which blips the throttle during downshifts which giving the driver full control over gear selection. The result from all of this gadgetry is lightning fast gear shifts and paired with the V8 engine; It is simply putting you ahead of the pack.
In order to maximise the performance of the car, The IS F is treated to a serious make-over on the exterior components to optimize airflow around the vehicle and reduce wind resistance. It features a redesign front bumper has an air duct designed to increase brake cooling performance. The IS F bonnet is made from aluminium to reduced overall weight of the car and it has a bulged shaped to accommodate the V8 engine. The front fenders have been sculpted to integrate with the 19inch BBS aluminium forged wheels. The most noticeable changes to the rear end are the exhaust system. It is a low restriction exhaust system with stacked quad tail pipes.

The interior design of the car is slightly different from Lexus IS300. It features contoured front seats with large support to improve seat hold performance, aluminized composite trim on the IS F's console, doors, armrest & center console and a speedometer with scale up to 300km/h. The IS F comes standard with Mark Levinson Premium Surround Sound Audio System featuring 14 speakers, 7.1 channel architecture and 300 watts of maximum power.
The IS F drivetrain features a Torsen Type Limited Slip Differential (LSD) which gives a better traction performance and stability at all driving condition. The IS F is equipped with sophisticated Vehicle Dynamics Integrated Management systems (VSDM). The VSDM adds a comprehensive Sport mode on the IS F that supports high performance driving. Behind the aluminium forged wheels are a set of Brembo cross-drilled brake rotors (The diameter of the brakes is 14.2 inch for fronts and 13.6inch for rears) and 6 piston front and 2 piston rear. The callipers are made from high rigidity aluminium. This brake combination ensures maximum brakes performance.
Just like the smaller brother IS300, the IS F is equipped with 8 SRS Airbags; Dual stage SRS for driver and passenger, driver and passenger knee air bags, driver and passenger side airbags , Left and right curtain shield airbags. The cabin pillars and roof side rail had been designed with Head Impact Protection Structure. Other Active safety features includes VDIM with Sport Mode, ABS with EBD & Electronic Brake assist, VSC with steering Cooperative Control, TRC, Hill-Start Assist Control.
2011 is going to be an interesting year for NBT Lexus as new models such as Lexus‘s new compact luxury CT200h is expected to be available early next year. And perhaps, a glimpse of Lexus highly rated Super car, THE LF-A.

After missing in action for 3 years in the STI line-up, here we present to you the brand new 2011 Subaru Wrx STI.
The 2011 Sedan STI has been developed by Subaru engineers to improve on the balance & handling of the car through vigorous research & development test on Nurburgring track in Germany. The STI clocked in a blistering 7 min 55seconds and beats Porsche Panamera Turbo time of 7min 56seconds. Mind you the STI has only 305hp while the Panamera Turbo has 500hp. The STI is considered to be the best handling and fastest Sedan from Subaru up to date.
After the introduction of the Subaru Wrx STI hatchback last year in Brunei, we all knew that the STI sedan with the iconic rear rally spoiler has been long gone since then. But Subaru has made a comeback early this year by reintroducing the Sedan version of the STI and guess what; the iconic rear rally spoiler is back! The rear spoiler is designed to achieve maximum stability by reducing rear-end lift during high speeds. The new STI features an aggressive front bumper, wide-body treatment similar to the hatchback STIs and dual exhaust tail pipes that deliver a familiar grunt at idle and sing proud once you nail the accelerator beyond 4000rpm. It is muscular in all angles and it looks like the STI just came out from the gym.
The STI have grown matured since the first Subaru Impreza Wrx which has gone through the production line in 1992. But the STI still maintains the same Turbocharged boxer engine and the marvellous symmetrical all wheel drive layout. This is a trademark for the Subaru Wrx and this technology has been praised quite a lot in the Rally world.
The 2.5 flat four turbocharged (boxer) engine from the previous Wrx STI was carried over to the new STI. The engine is rated 300hp and made to match with a six speed manual transmission. But for this particular Subaru Wrx STI, it has a 5 speed semi auto transmission coupled with a paddle shift on the steering column. This is our first tryout of a Subaru Wrx STI with an automatic gearbox. The gearbox is very smooth and changing gears is seamless but truthfully lacks the fun of using the 6 speed manual transmission.
The greatest improvement over the hatchback version is the handling and the balance of the car. The STI has a reworked suspension with a stiffer spring, anti roll bar and new pillow ball bushings. It is designed to reduce body roll and increases cornering grip. Underneath the wide body fenders are 18 inch 14 spokes light weight alloy wheels wrapped with Dunlop SP SPORT 600 tyres. Behind the 18 inch STI wheels are a set of 17 inch Brembo 4 pot ventilated brakes for the fronts and 2 pot ventilated brakes for the rears.
The Subaru Wrx STI has always been popular with the tuning scene especially with its responsive neck grabbing power boxer engine and its iconic symmetrical AWD. With the rebirth of the sedan STI, things have just brighten up for Subaru again. Let the tuning war begin.
